Panch Pokhari Trek

The Panch Pokhari trekking region lies north east from Kathmandu and east from the Langtang Helambu region. It's named five holy ponds with great religious importance.Remoteness. Wilderness and practically unknown area. Top of the Panch Pokhari offer a view of Rolwalling Himalayan range, Jugal Himal range.GosainKund, Numbur and Everest Himalayan ranges. This region has exceptional part of beauty and bio-diversity as you trek to a group of high altitude holy lakes to both Buddhist and Hindu people. Many Buddhist, Hindu and shamans with special costume visit in this region each year on the occasion of Janaipurnima festival is held in full moon of August.
The people in this area mostly Tamang and Tibetan origin. Five holy lakes, mountain peaks glaciers, alpine pastures, cultivated lands and forest are major attraction in this area. This region is home of several kind of birds, mammals, retails, and amphibians. Non tourist area where people get real adventure and pristine nature and mountains views. The five holy lakes through untouched traditional villages in spectacular Himalayan landscapes.
Six or seven hours drive from Kathmandu by bus up to Syaule then trek starts. Trek finished in Melamchi.

Program of trek

Day 1: Kathmandu - Okhareni (1965 meter)5/6 hrs drive from kathmandu up to Syaule and starta to  trek. Two hours walking arrived Okhareni.

Day 2: Okhareni - Kamikharka (2810 meter) it takes around 6 hours walk. Lunch at the phurse village,  after the lunch you have to climb around two hours in the beautiful oak's, rhododendron and bamboo forest. You can take lunch at the end of village. On the way you will have nice view of mountain and pastureland. Over night at tented camp.

Day 3: Kami kharka - Pauwabas (3000meter) ( Walking in the beautiful forest with majestic views of  Mountain. You can have view of mt. Gaurishankar and jugal Himal. Steadily climb up hill. On the way you can encounter with so many colorful bird and some wild animal. Over night at tented camp.

Day 4: Pauwabas - Hilebhanjyang (3400 meter.) The trail aacends steeply and steasily across grass pasture and stony.The final descent to Hile bhyang is steep. In the spring season it is  could be difficult with snow in the gullies. Beautiful views of both side valley and  mountains. Over night at the tented camp.

Day 5: Hilebhyang - Noshyampati (3700 meter) At the beginning the trail climbs steeply and traverses pen ground along the flag stone trail. In the morning the views are wonderful in the clear  weather. You will have majestic view of mt. Dorje lakpa, Gaurishankar and Jugal himal.  There is some stone huts for yak. Over night at camping.

Day6: Noshyampati -Panchpokhari (4160 meter) It is well defined trail to Panchpokhari. It takes about 4 hours climb on the hill, five holy lakes at 4200 meter. There is two metal roof huts and temple which is the dedicate to shiva. In the full moon o f the August thousands of Nepalese come to worship. There is often snow on the ridge and making the trek difficult. In evening you can see very beautiful sunset view as well in the morning sunrise view.

Day 7: Panchpokhari - Noshyampati (4-5 hours of walk) In the morning you will have beautiful sunrise view from the top of Panchpokhari. After breakfast visit the around Panchpokhari 2/3 hours. descend to Noshyampati.

Day 8: Noshyam pati -Dupkhang (2310 meter) Trek to dupkhang , experince the local culture. Walk in the forest. Sometimes encounters with wild animal. It is steeply descend. It takes around five  hours. Over night at camping.

Day 9: Dupkhang - Manekharka (1250 meter) Descend and flat up to manekharka through the village. Experience local culture and encounter with Tamang people. Over night at tent or home stay.

Day 10: Manekharka - Melamchi pulbazar (800 meter) nice walking in the village, experience the  different kind of ethnic people and their culture.

Day 11: Melachipulbazar - Drive to Kathmandu :- In the morning having breakfast drive to Kathmandu around four hours by private bus or jeep.
